I'm Michelle Dionne Thompson

And like many in academia, finishing my dissertation almost finished me!

And it felt damned near impossible to have an article accepted by a journal.

I know this sounds dramatic.

However, it feels impossible to get your writing projects FINISHED especially when you have other job and personal responsibilities to handle each day.

You think you can quietly work in your office, but your colleagues, like homing pigeons, burst in and interrupt you every time you try.

You try to write at home before or after you put your kids to bed, but without fail, the pitter patter of their precious little feet beat a path to you, your laptop, your cup of coffee/tea, and your writing project.

It makes you want to give up and write at a bar with your favorite adult beverage which seems both easier and impossible at the same time.

Let's Make the Time to Write

Whether this is your dissertation, or you are a seasoned academic trying to juggle it all (HAH!),
I know that you can can relate.

Not being able to make progress on your project can feel stressful, frustrating, and demoralizing.
If you:

  • Want to finish that dissertation, but cannot figure out how to work with all of that time;
  • Want to move forward your tenure project, but are drowning in emails and loads of other responsibilities; or
  • Want to work on your project for full professor, but are drowning in service work,

Then you are in the right place!

I want to share everything I have learned in the last several years
from supporting my clients and from what I have implemented myself to produce the results I want!

And you better believe it's not the write-all-the-time-except-for-eating-and-sleeping thing I did to finish my dissertation!!

No platitudes here such as "break it into small parts." I will provide you with specific guidance on HOW!

And you won't need long stretches of time to implement the tips I share with you.

We can start with just 30 minutes per week to get your project DONE! No stress, no uncertainty, no overwhelm.

"Michelle could hear the questions I had and didn't give in to my panic, figure out the core of what needed to happen, works around the problem, and move forward."

— Client

Here's what we'll cover in our 60 minutes together:

  • How to make your writing a true priority and set aside time to make it happen — without disrupting your busy schedule or locking yourself in your office for hours at a time;
  • How to make major progress on your writing with just a couple of small pockets of time each week (even if you’re certain you don’t have the time);
  • How to hit your writing deadlines and keep your promises to yourself and others (so you can stop beating yourself up for feeling like such a flake … you just haven’t had the right system until now);
  • Ways to problem-solve and get unstuck when you’re caught in the Analysis-Paralysis Procrastination Cycle of Doom (totally a real thing, and I’ll show you how to overcome it once and for all).

Spend 60 minutes with me, and I’ll help you gain real momentum with your writing projects.

Let's get your important work off the back burner and move through it, together.
